Welcome to Podcast 19, another delve into my experimental audio noodles from the sketch pad of AudioMulch. These tracks are essentially second iteration versions of the "Perfect Organism" mix I dropped onto Mixcloud in the new year; the difference being, these versions use samples from my library and personal back catalogue, rather than being a mashup mix of my favourite artists and snippets from sci fi films…
The running order is more or less the same as "Perfect Organism", however this is 10 minutes shorter. Yet like the original it is still very much a surreal and dark trip, an aural mind bending soup mashup.

I like effects. I mean I really like them a lot...
For this latest batch of tracks I have been using Native Instrument's Guitar Rig bank of effects, along with Reactor for some additional "Glitch". The Guitar Rig effects are particularly nice, featuring everything from dynamics processors, delays, reverbs, distortion, to modulation units controlling all of the above plus gate effects and beat manglers. It is a feast of tools for audio sculpting and I have had a lot of fun using them.
Audio Mulch has once again been the host for all this audio mangling, though it is becoming somewhat of a container for everything else now. I haven't been using so much of the effects inside this program, opting instead to use third party VST plugins such as those mentioned, plus additional tools from Audio Damage, Ohm Force, and Izotope, to mention a few.
So, about these tracks then; I produced them over the past 2-3 weeks and they follow the same kind of vibe as previous excursions. Mostly dark in tone and feeling, with a bit of epic thrown in also. We begin with a more uptempo drum and bass style piece which then leads into some more glitchier tracks. We close with a more melodic, epic piece which gives way to an ultra dark and slow ominous finale.
The last track was inspired by the recent "Prometheus" trailer, so it is intended to be unsettling!

A 3 month hiatus since the last Podcast, I'm back with another 30 minute experimental portion of glitch ambience. Audiomulch is again the instrument of delivery, with the aid of some nice NI and Audio Damage plugins, not forgetting of course a few of those Ohm Force plugins!
As with previous excursions this one is dark and moody; cinematic textures unhinged by the glitchy percussion and treatments. Best listened to at night, in the dark. Enjoy...

And so the experiment with dark textures and soundscapes continues. A collection of recent "Jams" in Audiomulch, exploring interesting combinations of sounds and effects. As usual, more a journey into sound design and atmosphere, rather than melodic music to the ears.
A little less frenetic than the last Villingen session, though continuing the IDM-ish glitchy direction, albeit in a more ambient and spacey way. The moods here are pretty dark, evoking some moodier cerebral landscapes...

Apologies for not posting anything for a while, been very busy trying to (and still in process of) finishing a Computer Game, these things can be very demanding!
With the absence of new material this month, I decided to put together a mix of older tracks which felt moody and cinematic. Recently I have been thinking about developing various story concepts and my musical tastes have followed suit, preferring material that inspires and connotes interesting images and ideas. In that vein then I assembled this mix; each track describing some world or feeling, atmosphere.
For the first time with these Podcast's I have also included 2 of the tracks I collaborated on with "Fourier Wave Device" for our "Quadrant" project, these are "Altered" and "Fields".
